Starting work on my radio stack (why, oh, why can't manufacturers standardize things like hole locations, depths to bezels, etc.? Huh? Just once???)...

The GNS-430W and the GMA-340 both have nice "dimpled" holes for screwing to the rack/angles. Not so the SL-40. What are people using here? I see they sit "inside" of a track sort of slot (relative to the sides of the actual radio), but I think an AN515-8 would sit too high, while using an AN509 (flush) seems the wrong thing to do...

TIA...

I hear you Steve. I used 6/32 flush head screws on SL40 rack (top) without dimpling there is enough clearance.

Also note that the SL-40 rack is a little narrower than the GTX-327 or GNS-430 rack. You'll need to put a thin washer over each screw to go between the rack and the mounting rail to fill the small gap.
