Just a sneak peek of the G-meter, plus a fun screenshot...

SkyView 3.0 will add a G-meter in a presentation that we think you're going to love. It mixes a classic analog presentation with some technical magic to offer a pretty neat effect:

First, you'll notice the G-meter replaces the HSI when it's displayed. This lets us make it huge and easily visible - important when you're doing aerobatics - which is hopefully what you're up to if you're using the G-meter. We've made an assumption that you don't care about seeing your full HSI while pulling G's. Magnetic heading always remains visible numerically though.

The current instantaneous G loading is displayed both with an analog needle and a big bold number in the center of the gauge. Resettable Min/Max Gs are also flank the instantaneous value.

The G-meter can be toggled on and off manually, or it can be set to pop up on G thresholds that you set.

The G-meter will premier with SkyView 3.0, which is due out in March.

Next, we've got a fun SkyView screen shot that we ended up with quite accidentally while doing some 3.0 testing. Your typical SkyView system would have topographic terrain displayed behind this. This shot omits the terrain for effect (but it's a good one, no?)

Very cool display. I'm assuming the top an bottom are the max pulled? You guys sling an AHRS unit around on a rope or something to get 10g's? I think your assumptions and symbology are brilliant.

Now... VP-X support?! :D

So.................

Let's get this into perspective.

You are passing 3420' - a DA of 3376, you are 34 degrees nose down, doing 182kts pulling 7.3g.

Son - You about to die :eek:

I will speak to you Gentlemen at Sun n Fun !

Nah.. they must be in an Extra 300 or Edge 540 :)

That is the USA FAA database loaded in that image so it only has the airports near the USA.

For the record, no actual airplanes were harmed (or even used) in the making of that screenshot ;)

I was planning to install a G-meter in my panel. I guess that's another thing I won't have to buy now. Thanks Dynon. Now, as others have requested... VP-X please..?

If they'd just get rid of the red nanny arrow, or at least make it switchable (off), a g-meter makes more sense.

Cool

Check the latest press release on Dynon and VP's sites!!!!:D:D:D

Edit: Sorry...didn't see Jeff's link in prior post.

That red "nanny" arrow may save someones life in an unusual attitude situation. Agree though, the ability to configure it on/off would be nice.

And judging by how far that ball is out of the cage, the pilot does not have any tailwheel time.

...Sorry, I HAD to go there :D
