I've noticed that spacing of SkyBolts varies across different builds. It looks like SkyBolt recommends 3.5" spacing and this is what the flanges work out to without cutting. At this spacing, I can get between 14-16 flanges across the upper cowl depending on how close to the lower cowl I go (I'm keeping the hinge on the lower portion and split). What are other builders using for spacing? How close to the lower hinge should I go? Has anyone noticed any pillowing or cowl lift when using the 3.5" spacing? I received 19 flanges and locks in the RV1014 upper cowl kit I purchased. Seems like I have more then I'll need? Or am I missing something?
