I have been building my RV8 for a while now. I ordered the Show Planes Fastback kit. One way and another I was considering re-doing the rear skin and the F-809 bulkhead.

I contacted them re the cost of these replacement parts. The combined total was over US$350.

I suggest being very careful and not making any mistakes with your Show Planes kit....

If you have raw material available it is not all that hard to form a new bulkhead. Same with the skin, just use the old part as a pattern.

Yes, that is my plan. We are lulled into a false sense of security by Vans. The replacement parts are cheap and readily available. I'm going to get some stock and make my own.

Just imagine the cost if that had been a part for a Bonanza! We experimental guys have it pretty good.
