I am wondering what other people have done to set a reference to the horizon on their EFIS in the RV. In the past the process for other planes for me was just to set the horizon to match the pitch of the plane on the ground. But in the RV10, the plane has a slightly nose high position while sitting on the ground. So do you consider this ground position to be the horizon or do you set it a few degrees below?

I would establish level flight at a normal cruise speed and set it in flight. That's what you have to do with a tail-dragger or you'll be way off level flight indications.

I leveled my -10 on the ground, then set the horizon. Can't remember if I weighted the tail or let air out of the nose wheel to level the fuselage. If the fuselage is not exactly level in level flight, it must be very close to it.
