Before starting to rivet the rudder skin, I was asking myself if the counterweight has to be secured a bit more than only with the 2 self locking nuts. Once the skin and tip are riveted on, that lead piece is no longer serviceable.

I consider using 3M Scotch Weld, or Proseal as an additional securing mechanism to prevent the counterweight becoming loose in the far future.
Maybe the self locking nuts are sufficient for that. Bo? I don't want to add weight for nothing. Just wanna be on the safe side.

any hints on that are greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Securing rudder counterweight.

I added proseal over the nuts for a "belt and suspenders" approach.

I used proseal on the counterweight on the rudder and elevators. I don't want them to vibrate and get loose.
