Hi,

Does anyone with a completed aircraft have any unfilled holes in the bottom skin of the fuselage?

I have two holes. The first is 1/8 inch, just forward of the access hole for the flaperon bolt. Inside the square of rivets holding the brackets for same.

The second is a slightly larger hole on the centreline just behind the rearmost pair of screws holding the system blocks.

Neither hole appears on the plan.

Thanks...Keith

Having just riveted the "extra" 1/8" hole by the hole in the bottom skin (i.e. F-1276) accessing the head of the flaperon mixer bolt, what is the purpose of this hole?

Namely, do I drill it out or leave it in?

Thanks.

I don't have my plans in front of me at the moment. However, there are a number of larger holes located throughout the RV-12 that were used for initial machining/CNC alignment and serve no purpose during construction. I like to think of them as drain holes. 😉
