Just finished the annual on my 1 year old 7A and its time for some color.

I'm looking for a high quality paint shop near N.E. part of US (or Canada). Willing to travel for professional, perfect paint. Recommendations?

Thanks in advance,
Steve

Prestige

Steve,

I talked to at least 25 shops throughout the US and chose a small paint shop in far upstate Vermont called Prestige Aircraft. They did a two stage job on my -8. The paint scheme was rather detailed with multiple colors. Their price was at the low end for a two stage job but higher than most single stage quotes. I had to wait about six months to get an appointment and the job took about four weeks. Talk to Fed, he's a good guy and can provide more details and references.

Perfect Paint job

If you are willing to go as far south as Chorman airport (D74) in Farmingdon,DE, Jim Russell of Russell Aircraft Refinishing does a superb job. He had just finished painting Paul Lilly's plane and pulling it out of his hanger(http://www.geocities.com/myrv9a/) when I took my Cardinal there for a paint job. I thought I was making 300 + kt :D driving the cardinal home to Maryland when he finished it. I will have him paint my 9A when I finish it. Contact him if interested at [email protected]. Good luck!

One of the best is in NJ. Reese Aviation at N87 - Trenton-Robbinsville. I have been told that they are expensive, but worth it. They have been written up in national magazines. I have seen many example of their work (Hang out at the airport on occasion).

Ditto that. I saw a -9A he did (exactly like the Van's demonstrator) and it was breathtaking. He's a nice guy too. Spent a good amount of time answering all my questions.
