I've been having trouble locating rental scales in my area, so another builder and I are looking into buying a set.

Summit has a set that looks like it will do the job.

Before pulling the trigger, I thought I'd check here and see if there were any other recommendations. Does anyone have any experience with this set, or know of a better option?

We bought the Avery Scales. they are a little more and only comes with three pads.

I read the fine print on the bottom of the page from the link you posted. They imply, but never come out and say 4 pads are included. The picture only shows two pads. I would get a verbal from Summit. If the pads are not included, Avery is a good deal.

The display looks simillar to the avery model. http://www.averytools.com/prodinfo.asp?number=50297

Six of the local airport bunch went in together. They have weighed several planes.

Call Avery and rent "racing" scales

I rented from them at completion and post paint. Call them up,.. they ground ship, in large plastic crate. You can use them for a day or several,... ship them back.

very simple, very easy,.. reasonable in my opinion
