Van's Aircraft has published SB-00103, which directs owners/operators of Dynon Skyview-equipped aircraft with canopy-open warning features installed to update the Skyview settings files, which are available on the Van’s Aircraft website downloads page. On aircraft with EFIS systems that are updated to Skyview software v16.7 or later, the new settings files will correct the RPM at which audible/visual warnings are being annunciated.
For owners who upgraded from a version of the Skyview software prior to v16.7 or newer, the RPM at which the canopy warning is activated changed to 200 RPM due to a change to the setting variable name. The new settings files include the correct values for all versions of the Skyview system software (1700 RPM for Lycoming engines and 3700 RPM for ROTAX engines).
Note that this bulletin only applies to systems in which the canopy warning system ("check canopy latch" type of annunciation) is installed, and only applies to Skyview systems.
