Does anyone use satellite toys for texting?
Was looking at Bivystick at https://www.bivystick.com/
After the initial purchase looks like a fairly economical communication tool.

Cost and data plans look very close to the Garmin inReach Mini.... It can also be used for text messages and weather reports on its Iridium network.

One benefit I do see is that the inReach doesn't need a phone app to operate, and might be more of a SOS/Safety tool along with being a communication device....

bugs

pretty heavily dependent on a working cell phone. That and a buggy app make it not ready for prime time IMHO
