The FAA has issued a Special Airworthiness Information Bulletin to alert operators and maintenance personnel of an airworthiness concern about possible induced heading errors in systems using magnetic sensitive sensors such as magnetometers to provide heading information. This applies to both certificated and experimental installations.

My biggest concern has been unintentionally grabbing a screw-bit driver with a magnetic bit retainer rather than a friction-ball bit retainer.

I am moving all magnetized screw bits to a different toolbox as a precaution.
