One more...

Jonh Huft - Race 18 - was adding a secret speed mod to-day - he said he was entering.

Sounds like one more RV-8....:)

I Hope John Can Make It

The field is growing nicely but I don't see John's name in the list yet. He said recently that at this time of year getting out to Taylor and back is not a sure thing and he was thinking of entering if the weather was acceptable. I suspect he is waiting until the race is closer before deciding for sure.

Alan Carroll is in with his fast RV-8

Alan usually beats me so his entry is especially significant to me - plus the fact that he is a good guy. That brings the RV entries up to six.

Bob beat me in the AVC last year, and usually we're very close.

The RV-Blue category has been a lot of fun the few times I've raced, because there are usually enough entries to make a real competition out of it. Because the airframes and engines are pretty similar (mostly), pilot technique and decision making can make a difference.

WOW! Look at'm come

THere are now twenty racers signed up for next saturday's race in Taylor Texas. Seven of them are RVs. If you ever wanted to see the Polen Special in real life - it is entered as well. Five RV blues - now that is a contest!

DATE CHANGE!!!!

I RECEIVED THE FOLLOWING MESSAGE FROM RACE ORGANIZER MIKE THOMPSON THIS AFTERNOON. Most of the planes will arrive Saturday but the race itself will now be flown Sunday morning 3-15-09.

Race Nuts,

Due to forecast rain on Friday and some on Saturday AM, and subsequent forecast clearing for Sunday, we're postponing the Taylor 100 to Sunday morning.

Brief is 0930. The date has changed but all other details remain the same.

Dinner and good company in the Taylor Airport Pilot's Lounge Saturday at 1800.

Hope to see you there!

- Mike

3-12-09 Entry list

Three planes dropped out and one new entry. Duncan Sutherland's SX-300, Larry Henney's Lancair 360 and Darrell Reiley's RV-7A will be missed. Dave Christman's RV-8 adds some spice to the growing RV Blue class entries. Alan Carroll, Mike Thompson, and Dave Christman have beaten me before and Mike Henney and Jim Hard have not competed before so everything is up for grabs in the RV Blue Class.
