I'm New Here
I have been working to complete an RV9A from a fellow EAA member. In doing so I have been gong over everything as if I was building it from the beginning. However, I have a question about the placement of the wing rib wiring access hole. In the wing drawings it shows the location in the photo for 1/2 inch hole, yet Van's FAQ shows it differently. Any advice or comments as to this question?

Van's has a wing wiring document if it helps.

Here's you're photo. The large conduit is usually at the bottom of the ribs. That path takes it right under the bellcrank.

Good luck with the .75" conduit holes

I had good luck following Van's recommendation for .75" conduit holes per the previous poster's link. I was a bit concerned that the conduit might get in the way when it came time to rivet the bottom skins, but it wasn't an issue at all.

Rib Holes

Thanks for your thoughts on this. Now I'm considering my options to replace all the affected ribs or new set of wings. Lot's of rework, but looks like the best solution.

Not necessarily. New ribs or new wings would both be drastic solutions to what might not be a problem. Did you check with Van's? While it may not be the recommended location, it might still be acceptable.
