So, my son is due in May and my wife gave me the ok to go full-airplane with the room décor. Wall art with the child's name is pretty common, but I wanted something better than the generic airplane stuff from the box stores. So, I designed a wall plaque in CAD and had is cut from 0.063 6061 mill-finish. I am very happy with the result. I will probably add a clearcoat to prevent corrosion, but indoors out of reach it shouldn't be needed. Overall dimensions are 47x22.5.
This was all pretty easy to do. If anyone else is interested in having one with a name or N-Number, I could send you the CAD file. Or I would be happy to help you do it. It would only take a few minutes to change the text.
