I'm new to the RV world and I hear many good things about these planes. I have a question about what a particular aircraft might be worth. I'm looking at a 2005 RV8A. I believe the builder is good and the plane appears to be very nice. Basic VFR package, pretty basic instruments, does have a nice autopilot, factory new engine, 180 horse (not sure type) and 3 blade MT prop 150 hours SNEW Airframe, engine, prop. NDH. I've heard different stories on what's happening with prices of planes these days. some say market 30% down. What is the general consensus of what's happening in the RV marketplace especially the tandem RV 8A (tricycle)? Assuming it checked out well in a prebuy and assuming the builder did a quality job on the plane, what would seem to be a fair market value on a plane such as this?

with that info, I'll SWAG a price range of $60000-115000.

In other words, so many variables come in to play in pricing RV's.
