Where's the best place to download an Operational and Maintance manual for RV9 . I believe there is a requirement for one to be on the aircraft along with the CG and other stuff. N908DR soon to fly

Dennis:
Yes, a POH and weight and balance data (both for your particular aircraft) are required to be on board per FARs. I would encourage you to fly the entire test protocol to establish your own performance numbers. It's all part of the experience of building your own. At the same time, you can go to the home page of VAF and look at the left hand index. About 2/3 of the way down, you'll see a tab for POH. In this file there are example documents for both the 9 and 9A. You may or may not want to use the numbers in these as a reference point. At the same time, you can plagarize the appropriate sections for your own POH.

Here's EAA's take:

Amateur-Built Documents

What documents do I need to carry in my homebuilt? Do any need to be displayed?

You must carry the following documents in your amateur-built aircraft:

Airworthiness Certificate
Certificate of Aircraft Registration
Operating Limitations
Weight and Balance Data

The only document that needs to be displayed is the airworthiness certificate. This is required by 14 CFR 91.203(b), which states:

?(b) No person may operate a civil aircraft unless the airworthiness certificate required by paragraph (a) of this section or a special flight authorization issued under ? 91.715 is displayed at the cabin or cockpit entrance so that it is legible to passengers or crew.?

Note that there is no requirement that the airworthiness certificate be visible from the outside. Only that it is legible to passengers or crew.

The operating limitations, weight and balance info, and registration certificate must be carried aboard the aircraft, but do not need to be displayed.

For international operations (other than Canada), you will also need an aircraft radio station license. This can be obtained from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). For more info on the aircraft radio station license, see the following web site:

Your Operating Limitations are considered to be your POH.
If you desire to make up a complete POH, that is great, but not required.

RV9 Operation and Maintenance Manual

Anyone know where to find a download for a good RV9 O and M Manual? Almost ready for first flight N908DR

It was a "9" owner, that gave me the idea of using the flight test manual that comes with the plans for the inspection process.
