I finally got around to making a rotisserie for my QB fuselage, (Photo below) borrowing several ideas off this forum. At the moment I am using an old sawhorse to hold up the rear, but I would like to make something that bolts to the rear somehow allowing it to pivot - while eliminating any chance of the fuselage falling. What have you people done to support the rear of your fuselage? I'm open to stealing more ideas!

And for those builders that haven't yet built a rotisserie for their fuselage - It's well worth the effort.

Cheers,

We made a stand that had a steel rod that fit into the tailwheel spring weldment's hole to support the rear of the fuselage.

Here is how I did it...

Since just sticking a pipe in the tailwheel stinger hole is off center I tried to adjust and this came pretty close.

The assembly uses 1/2" pipe, a 6'', 12" and 4 1/2" section with 2-90 degree elbows and a cap. I drilled through all the elbows to keep the joints from slipping as the fuselage is rotated. Worked great...also drilled and can be seen to bolt into tailwheel stinger socket.

On the top of a saw horse I installed and eye bolt for my pivot point.

Of course there is also an engine stand on the front but that goes without saying...
