Hello, I'm in the process of installing the lower longerons to the forward fuselage floor. My longerons seem to be short. When I place them where I believe they should be the longeron comes up a little short towards the front. Should the aft end be against the center section flange? I still have proper edge distance for the bolts that go thrue the firewall weldement but the longeron does not touch the firewall.

as long as you have the proper bolt clearance in all directions anything extra is just extra and doesn't provide any structural benefit - especially with the steel weld-mount lying underneath.

Thanks Ken. That's what I figured. Just checking. I've been putting off longerons for a while. I'm ready to get them out of the way!
