I bought an RV-7a that appears to have a sliding canopy with the ability to tip up on the aft end. Just slide the canopy aft, release the little tab on the Starboard slide and the canopy will lift up off the rail. I am trying to find out who makes this mod, and where I can identify and buy a hold up strut. I saw one on an RV from the Tulsa area but didn't write down the info.

Menske kit

If it was my RV that you looked at I have the menske kit as shown. There is another kit out there but I cannot remember the name.
