600 hrs on the aircraft and its time for new brakes. One piston jammed and near caused and incident and hence I want to buy new cylinders all around and put it down to wear and tear of 600hrs. I have heard rumors that there are upgraded brake solutions, but never seen or heard anything specific. Are the stock brakes cleveland? What else is out there that is a plug and play for the stock vans brakes? Will they impact wheel pants etc? Any info greatly appreciated.

Hugh.

Should have said new calipers, not cylinders..:)

I will not be buying new cylinders.. Just brakes.

Check out Grove

for upgraded brakes. I have them on my 7A, and a friend has them on his six. We both love them. Dual piston calipers seem to have better feel and higher capacity without fade. Top quality brakes and wheels.

Check out Matco

I've had Matco wheels and brakes on my -6 since Day 1 and they work well (bought a partially-built kit with missing brakes/wheels). I have 323 hours on them and the original pads are still less than 50% worn. If you're going to go to the trouble of changing brake manufacturers, check them out.
