I AM LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO TRAINS IN A RV-7 OR MAYBE A -6 THAT IS A DPE THAT CAN GIVE A CFI CHECK RIDE.PLEASE SEND PM IF YOU CAN HELP.

And a DPE usually can not do a CFI initial check ride. The FAA generally likes to do those. I suppose it's not unheard of, but I don't know any CFI's that were able to use a DPE.

FWIW, my commercial single engine land and airplane instructor check rides were at the same time with a designated examinar (not FAA) back in the early 90's. Flew 98% of it in a Citabria (not complex) and about 2% in an Arrow to prove I could raise and lower the gear and use the blue knob. I was able to use a DPE is because it was not an initial CFI as I was already a glider instructor. Didn't have to go with the FAA on the initial CFI either because they didn't have any FAA glider examiners available.

Another situation might be that he has a military equivalency CFI-MEL and he's looking to add the SEL...that too would not have to be with the FAA since it's not the initial.

Just my two cents worth.
