OK, saw the video of the RV4 with retracts on the front page last week; are there plans for that mod out there? Is it a retrofit kit like the one for the Cozy, any info would be great and helpful.

I heard that the landing gear is from a Mooney. It looks like a tremendous amount of work, not mention engineering skill. I doubt I would do that to my kit, but I would lie to learn more about it as well.

the gear is home-brewed, copied from a swift IIRC, and hydraulically activated.

It is a great looking airplane, with a hot-rodded angle-valve IO-360.

It will climb at least as well as my RV-8 which has the same engine and prop (although my engine is bone stock internally). My airplane is significantly faster in cruise ballasted to the same weight.
