Anyone done one?

A guy in Australia has added extra tanks 25-30 Gallons per side. Wondering if anyone else has extended their range range and how they did it, and if Vans have any options I can not see!

builds "extended range" tanks for the -10. Check with Safeair1.com.

I'd be real careful on that. You can probably take off with that much fuel, but it would be a big mistake to land with it.

John,

Exactly my point on whether anyone had done it and researched the engineering of it. Apparently Jon Johanson has built them before. Wondered if others over there had also.

Not a good look when your wings hit the deck on landing

There is a professional builder that has added an extra tank on each wing for a total of 120 gallons. Seems to work just fine of you want to carry that much fuel. The biggest concern Van's had was spin characteristics with that much more weight outboard, but this is why they call them "Experimental".

re: tanks

John Nys, in Tulsa, just changes the outboard leading edge into a fuel tank. I've seen it & visited with him about. It looks great & seems to work just fine.
