Has anyone installed the airflow oil cooler and can provide a comparison with vans supplied oil cooler? I recently flew out of a high altitude airport and had to reduce my VS to to 100/min in order to remain around 220 on my oil temp.

It is possible that my recently Vernatherm replacement has gone bad. I am in the process of checking all the boxes including the possibility of viscosity valve installation..

If you do not have a comparison, can you comment on the oil cooler performance?

Thank you.

Not enough information to vote on replacing the oil cooler, Venatherm or both.

I assume you are using the Van’s Fire Wall Forward kit Niagara 13 row cooler. I note that Van’s now uses the AirFlow Systems 13 row 2006X cooler for the RV-14. I don’t know for fact but I assume this shift was to address high oil temp issues with the IO-390 engines. I ran the AirFlow cooler on my first RV-10 and have a new one sitting on the shelf for the new RV-10 build. I never had an oil temperature problem with this cooler.
