Tom Horne describes pulling the mixture back until you feel the engine running rough and then increasing it back slightly. In the actual magazine the following picture is used as an illustration showing fuel flow at ROP operation in a Cirrus. Hmmm, for the life of me I cannot figure out why his engine may have been running rough??? Not to mention his ALT 1 is INOP and ALT 2 is on the fritz draining the battery. If memory serves me correctly, ALT 2 should be producing 20 amps.
