Have a question regarding the last 3 or 4 rivet holes on the rudder's tip and bottom ribs. They need to be dimpled to accomodate the 426 rivets. Problem is that the dimple die will not fit in the narrow space behind them. Is it allowable to countersink them, given that they are .032 in thickness? If not, what is the trick or work-around?
Input would be much appreciated for this grommet builder.

vice grip dimple die.

Ahh

So that's what that vice grip is for! LOL I've used it so little so far, like not at all) that I completely forgot about it. Thanks.

There is also some type of pop rivet dimple tool.

I do think the vice grip dimpler did a better job though, but it's hard to say cause my rivet puller was, shall we say, a piece of ****.

you can drill a 3/32 hole in the corner of your backriveting plate (or something else made of steel), countersink it and use it as the female part of the dimple die. Place the rib hole over the countersink, and either use the male half of the dimple die or simply a rivet to form the dimple.
