OK, I put a shaft through the cable bulkhead hole to show the line the cable should take(see pic), looks to be a perfect interference with the elev trim lever, any thoughts on what to do here?

Here's how mine worked out

It is awkward but with judicious placement it can be made to work.

is representative of a few others on cockpit / panel section of my blog.

This is shown with no Trim Control however it comes down at a slight angle when fitted - about 10 degrees. The rudder cable hole / fairlead positioning has been dropped down a bit from the plans as well. They are close but wont foul.

Mine is run through a section of nylon tubing inboard of the trim mechanism. The nylon tubing continues aft to the bulkhead and prevents chafe/interference.
