During my condition inspection (2nd) I noticed little dimples on the firewall, both sides. I determined that the nuts on the bolts that hold the brake pedals on were contacting the firewall at full deflection. Don't think I had this last year. Not sure if my dimensions were slightly off when I fabricated the links, or if the cables stretched slightly with two year's use. At first I thought I would have to shorten the rudder cables by making new links. Instead I provided more clearance by changing out the bolts from a -15 to a -14 and using thinner nuts and washers. I post this as a caution to builders working on this section. Make sure you keep the links on the short side. In this case, less is better.
