Gentlemen and ladies, how did you protect the wire from chafing and weather as it exits the HS and enters the rudder? Any pictures? I apologize if this has previously been discussed.

Thanks

Where the bundle passes thru the slot in the front face of the rudder bottom, I put three layers of heat shrink. I also glued a split piece of tygon tube onto the bottom edge of the slot in the rudder bottom. One yr and 100hrs later ... no evidence of chafing. :D

My wire passes though the aft fuselage and into the lower rudder. It's double insulated three conductor. It passes loosely though a 1/2 hole. Has worked fine for 13.5 yrs and ~1600 hrs. No grommets or other prep of the holes.

I cut a slot across from where the wires leave the fuselage, and inserted a rubber grommet.

You could also try to use caterpillar grommet in the same way. Just make sure you can get your wires and connector through the slot.
