I wanna make sure I'm not gonna mess things up. (its been that kinda week)

"The proper 35* swing is attained when the clearance between
the inboard trailing edge of the elevator skin is 1 1/8" when
measured perpendicular to the rudder skin with the elevator
in the neutral position."

now, when I swing the elevator to the left side of the plane (looking forward) the rudder is about 1.5' away from the elevator trailing edge, when fully swung. When it is swung right it wil almost touch the elevator trailing edge? This seems strange to me?

anyone else seen this?

That seems to indicate that you right rudder stop is too far forward and your left stop is too far aft. You should have equal left and right rudder travel.

If you don't have stops, what is "stopping" the travel? The right side should be OK, as the stop will take care of it, but find out what is stopping the left travel and fix it.
