Very specific question for those of you with the G3X and pMags. Is the RPM output from pin 6 of the PMag to the GSU 73 RPM input (pin 17 on the GSU 73) shielded? It shows it shielded for the Jabiru and Rotax engines but nothing specific for the traditional Lycoming with PMags. The PMag manual shows the optional output on their wiring diagram without a shield.

Anyone with a flying plane have this wired and working?

E-mag does not specify shielded wires for the P-mag tach signal.

With our EICommander, we do not spec shielded wire for any of the P-mag wires and do not have any issues. However, installing shielded wires won't hurt anything.

One thing to make note of is that the default for the P-mag tach signal is two pulses per revolution. You can set this in the G3X or the P-mag, if you like.

PS. Make sure you understand the timing requirement for your engine and configure the P-mags accordingly.
