Anyone know if the new Rotax AD effective Nov.8th applies to our RV-12 912ULS ?
This is an amendment to AD 2002-16-26 (crankcase crack inspection) that now includes 912(S) series engines....does ULS mean it is an (S) series engine? This could be real UGLY!

There has been a similar service bulletin out there (SB-912-029-UL) since November '06 regarding checking the crankcase for cracks on the 912ULS. I would think that the serial # range would be pre-RV12. My engine came from the second batch of 25 that Vans shipped and was well beyond the serial #s covered by the SB.

But, be sure to check your serial #.

The 912ULS is the non-certified version of the 912S.

you are experimental and not subject to AD's...probably a good idea to be concerned just the same. The 912ULS will be addressed by company Service Bulletins as mentioned above.
