Due to having move my business twice and limited space in the interim, I have not been able to touch the plane except for some wiring in the last 18 months.
We are finally in our new hangar and I have the space to work on it again. I just opened it up last week and started figuring out where I left off. Ordered some 321 bends to fab the turbo outlet pipes and am about to order some pinhole filler to start work on the glass parts.
Realistically, I don't expect an engine start in 2010 but you never know. Summer is here now and I want to enjoy that flying the 6A, mountain biking, blading, hiking, kayaking, riding my GSXR and driving my new Genesis Coupe- I'll work on the -10 when it is not so nice outside or when business is slow. At least work and planes are in the same place now.
I hope to start updating the project web page soon with some new photos.
No, my stuff is all home grown. The RV10 is fitted with a previous generation EG33 flat six with twin turbos. The web page detailing my sorry progress is here: http://www.sdsefi.com/air46.htm
My 321 tubing and mandrel bends for the turbo outlet pipes arrived today so I'll be firing up the TIG soon. Got these from http://www.reidwashbonracing.com. Great service from these guys. I should have my AZKO pinhole filler in a couple weeks- a gallon of it. If anyone in Canada wants to buy some, I think I'll have a lot left over.
