Strong tailwinds down south over the last couple of days allowed me to really gallop home from Alabama the other day. The Rocket at 11,500 with a really strong tailwind can post some pretty amazing numbers (I wasn't in a dive either :) I know, I know, Rockets aren't RV's, kinda like Shelby's aren't Mustangs...:)

I snapped a picture of my G396 with my phone...gotta love it!

Now if you tell me you were doing that on 7 gallons an hour I'd be really impressed..:)

KC to Houston on Wednesday

The best groundspeed I could do this week was 239kts.@12,500 msl, burning 9.24 gph during a 3 hour flight. That's the fastest I have ever piloted anything. This was in my RV-6A. :D

When I flew down to Sun-n-Fun last year, I caught the weather just right and topped out at 270 KTS GS at 11,500 MSL. Best I could get out of the fuel flow was my usual 9.5 GPH.
