I've been getting elevators ready for riveting today. On the left side I drilled the skeleton and skin but after looking at the trim tab spar for a bit it occurs to me that I can't think of a way to rivet the part of it that is inside the body of the elevator. There's really no room to get a bucking bar in there.
Guess I could use pop rivets, but I'm not exactly excited about that idea. It would probably work from a structural approach but everything else is countersunk and pop rivets would be hanging out in the breeze. At the very least that doesn't look very good.
This is on an RV-6.
Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks,
Eric
