I have a question regarding rivet pitch. I elongated one of the holes by 7/64in in the end of the rudder counterbalance rib where the skin wraps around the forward end of the rib. Vans recommended that I put an additional rivet between the two existing to provide extra strength, but there is only 0.9in of spacing between the existing. The mil-spec required 0.56in but this will leave me with only 0.45in. How important is pitch in this scenario?
