What ring size do we need to go under our plugs? 12/14/18MM?
Anyone know?

Actually, they are accurate. Lycoming generally says they just read 25 degrees higher than the bayonet type. Certified planes often use them for engine analyzers in order to retain the factory CHT probe(s). Keeps you legal because you have to retain the factory CHT. Also, things like Tanis heaters will hog all your bayonet holes. The piggyback adapters Tanis makes are mucho expensive. Another "spam can trick" is that you'll sometimes see a blast tube shooting cold air at an oil temp sender because the sender location chosen by the "factory" won't read low enough to stay within limits. How's that for scientific? And they are not as accurate and provide misleading information.
