I'm New Here
What tools from Van's site that are stated to be needed to build an RV are required to build the empennage? I'm wondering whether I need all of those tools or just some of them and then pick up the remainder along the way in the build process. I'm trying not to have to drop $2k+ on tools from the jump.

Check out Cleveland's RV Empanage kit. Yep, $759.00! The only thing s I haven't used are the sheetmetal snips (Used Band Saw & Dremel-In my opinion, both are indespensible.) I have a 9VDC DeWalt drill-haven't used the air drill. I borrowed a C frame. The only thing that comes to mind that I would add is a hand squeezer. Cleveland's tools seem to be a little better quality than some of the other suppliers- My opinion.

Check out Avery Kit

It's a big hit up front, but I went with the Avery Builders Kit (minus the drill as I use my Rigid 18V.) I built it into my budget and bought it before my tail kit. (I did purchase a learners kit to begin practicing, but if you can take a class you get the kit as part of your enrollment.)

The kit has almost everything I should need for the entire kit, so I won't be spending money later in the project when I need it for things like parts, avionics, etc. Also, it's really nice to reach in the tool box and know I have the tool I need.

Hope the 2 cents help. BTW, where in TX are you?
