Hey all. I feel like the new kid in town as this is my first post.

I'm doing the annual on my -8, and when I started inspecting the left gear outboard attach bracket [U803], I saw that it's been slightly bent and deformed a bit from one of my not so great moments this past year playing in the wind. The .030" gap has closed up to zilch on one side and the bolt can be turned by hand. The other bolt and gap seem unaffected. I'm planning on replacing the bracket and I'm not looking forward to it as the access through the gear tower really sucks.

I was thinking of putting in a access panel to gain access to the nuts from the outside but am not sure if the engineering would be compromised knowing that that can probably be a highly stressed area. Has anyone else had this issue or had to replace the bracket? Has anyone made a access panel in that location? Thanks in advance for any feed back or help.
