Any recommendations for a solvent/cleaner that will remove fuel lube (EZ Turn) without damaging gasket material? More specifically, I'm wondering about the fuel cap gaskets.
There may have been some dirt, aluminum shavings, dead bugs, and some other stuff I have yet to identify that made their way on there when I wasn't looking... ok, maybe it happened when it rolled across the floor and behind the tool chest... details!
I dont have any fuel lube around to try, but I would guess a tricloroethane solvent (Valco 184, printer ink solvent, etc) would work. Not much it wont disolve. Or perhaps if it is silicone based lube, a silocone solvent (try an automotive paint store) would work.
