I'm surprised not to have found this question here before...hopefully it's not controversial :)

In some parts (e.g. aileron pushrods), the plans call for priming the steel tubes inside and out. However, some of those tubes already come powder-coated on the outside - should I strip the coating to prime, or is the coating a good enough corrosion barrier? (I'll definitely prime the inside)

I would not do anything to the powder coated surfaces however I always primed the inside of the tubes.
