I see that several builders have removable gear tower webs. That sounds like a good thing to me. Can anyone send a photo of how they did it? I'd be making this change after the gear towers are in the plane.
 
Thanks, that was exactly what I was looking for. I am thinking about making a flush cover with a riveted inner flange, but I'm not sure the extra effort is worth it.

Opening up the towers

I did not open them completely. I took out the web between the lower two holes and found that gave me plenty of access to the towers for wiring and gear bolts. Seems a little stronger and you don't need nearly as big a plate to cover the hole and reinforce the tower.
