Considering a remote mount for the Zaon XRX to get it off of the glare shield. Anyone done this with success? If so where do you place it? I already had Zaon modify the power switch to automatically power up and have it coupled to my Garmin 696 for displaying traffic.
 
We have ours mounted on the aft baggage wall as hi as possible. The glare shield is the best place.

my experience

Check out the link that Finley found by searching. In that link I first responded that I had mounted it on the baggage wall. Then later I moved the XRX to my right wing tip. It has worked well in that location and I have no intention of trying any other solution until I move to a adsb solution.

Thanks for all of the replies.

I did not build this 6 so wondering how much work it is to route the power and data cable out to a wing tip. Does one need to remove the fuel cell? Any tips on how to make this as painless as possible certainly appreciated.
 
My opinion

Brian, fuel tank does not need to be removed. Suggest removing the
Inspection plates in one wing to look for wire runs/conduit ? The objective
Is to determine how wiring was run to wing tip. Then remove that wing tip
And figure out your plan.
