I'm working on trying to get all of the registration paperwork taken care of. My problem lies in the serial number of the prop. I'm using a Sterba wood prop given to me by a friend. I've looked it over several times now and can't find a serial number anywhere. The only identifying marking is the Sterba name and the pitch of the prop. How should I proceed? I hate to screw it up and have the paperwork kicked back to me. Should I leave the prop serial number space blank? Anybody else had this issue before?

I don't recall any place on the registration form asking for prop S/N.
The only S/N required on FAA form 8050-1 is the aircraft serial no.

The only place the prop S/N is asked for is on the 8130-12 (eligibility form) and you don't need that until you apply for airworthiness certificate.
In that case you simply put "none".

I just registered my plane a few months ago and nowhere did I need to list any information about the prop. My registration certificate came in the mail in just a few weeks with no complications.
