Hoping @G3xpert will respond. Would like everybody's opinion.

Was Garmin's intention for component (EIS, ADAHARS, etc) redundant power pins to be powered from independent buses when available?

If it's mentioned in the very thick G3 install manual, I missed or forgot it.
Anyone? Thanks

Either

Either separate busses, or in my case, I use the separate bus input from my GAD 27 that has the anti-brown out feature during engine start.

Find the "pinouts" section of the relevant installation manual. If the description of the power input pins says that multiple power pins are "diode OR'd together" then yes, the unit in question is designed to be optionally powered from multiple sources. Many of the G3X LRUs are this way.

If you don't see this statement, then the presence of multiple power pins is required to support higher currents than would be possible with a single pin alone, and all related power pins should be connected to the same supply. Don't skimp on the ground pins either, for the same reason. You typically see this on COM radios and pretty much all Garmin TSO navigators.
