First test flight revealed that rear seat pedals are placed so close to the rib they are mounted on that anyone with a large foot cannot get full extension on rudder or brakes. Their foot is stopped by the rib. We were unable to maintain directional stability on landing, could have turned nasty.

Can anyone tell me about the criteria for the length of chains leading to rudder? My pedals have about 1 1/2 inch play (for a difference of 3 inches between them) before any real effect. Is that on purpose to reduce sensitivity, is there an actual criteria (length) or is it done to personal preference?

Thanks
