I am race host for the Pappy Boyington Memorial Cup to be held in beautiful Coeur d'Alene, Idaho on August 16. If you have not raced before, no problem! If you enter, I guarantee it will improve you piloting skills, you will learn some things about your aircraft performance, and meet some great people. The text from our flyer appears below:

We will have RV's, at least one rocket, probably some fast glass, one Maule so far, possibly a Swift, etc. There are race classes for each type, and there will even be one for the RV-12, so come on out and race. The course covers the Palouse, lakes, and mountains of Northern Idaho, some of the most beautiful country on the planet!

A closed course Sport Air Racing League (SARL) cross country timed event air race of 140 NM open to all pilots will be held at Coeur d'Alene airport (KCOE) on August 16, 2014. There are classes for all piston engine airplanes based on HP, A/C type, retractable gear, etc. Entrants will be treated to a BBQ dinner on Friday evening at KCOE, a T-shirt for pilot and copilot, and a plaque certifying race speed. Trophies sponsored by Catto Propeller will be awarded to three fastest aircraft.
Registration will be open Friday evening, and again at 7:30 am Saturday morning.
Race briefing at 9 am. Race start 10:30 am.
SARL members $30, non members $40.

Oh Heck Yeah ! I'm signed up, the dinner and hanging out with Brent and the Racers is worth the quick XC from KENW to KCOE (about 7 hours).

Brent already has my shirt(S) order.

RVs are VERY WELCOME - and I think I'm running slower this year...

Blackjacks welcome ! West Coasters, you LIVE there !

Brent is right about racing making you a better pilot, but you know, it'll make you a better American and all around human being too! And its cheaper than Viagra !

See you there !

I would be there but my partner has scheduled the plane that weekend. One of the pitfalls of co-ownership.

Dang you Jeff Barnes for getting me hooked on yet another thing I can't afford!

Racer Nate !

Wow, If ONLY ! You could slide over for the brief in the morning - Brent would accomodate, or grab the wife, come on out Friday night for dinner. Quick flight from Ephrata !

When you see those Catto Prop awards, smell that barbeque, hang with the racers.....

Well, we'll hold a toast to you if you can't make it, but boy, KCOE is sure close to KEPH. Next one out your way is the Thunderbird in Wickenberg E25 in November.

See you next time I'm thru KEPH!

Best Regards,
