I'd like to finish up some of my emp. parts, and i've read in the "27 years of RVater" about putting dabs of RTV on the end of the stiffeners. I went to NAPA yesterday, they have around 8 different types of RTV. I bought ultra black (hi temp) and ultra blue (sensor safe) This is napa/ permatex branded. both of these say noncorrosive, is either one better?

And as far as the control surfaces, which ones need it? I guess the rudder doesn't because it has the AEX wedge, do all the other trailing edges that have stiffeners need RTV dabs?

Paint problems

If there is any chance at all of silicone getting on the exterior, I wouldn't use it. You could be fighting fisheyes all over the place.
