professional help with avionics installation? I know avionics install help does not count against the builder in meeting the 51% rule but does it need to be specifically included on the 8130-12 as Commercial Assistance???

I have a fairly complex panel and needed about 40 hours of professional help with harness wiring & testing.

You are correct in that avionics installation does not count against you for the 51%.
However, it does need to be listed on the 8130-12.

Thanks Mel!

It does seem a bit confusing to allow for some forms of professional help that don't count against you meeting the 51% rule (QB kits, engine building, avionics installation, etc.) but which still have to be listed on 8130-12. It seems the point of the 8130-12 is to make sure you meet the 51% rule requirements.

Or am I missing something about the purpose of the 8130-12?
